Young Enoch was excited to come to the U.S. Mary is gone but will never be forgotten. Timothy COCH USA, and served on the Usher Board, Missionaries, Deaconess Board, Food Bank Ministry, CHer delight in serving the Lord was evident to all who surrounded her. Mary is also survived by two sisters, Salley Speller and Gloria Jackson.
Together they had six grandchildren, Isis Morgan, Norris Sam, Antwoin Scott, Sherelle Parker, Erin Parker, and Ariel Parker, and a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends. James and Mary had three children, Janice Parker-Houff, Calvin E. Parker and they later moved to Newport News, Virginia. She was educated in the Hereford County Public Schools. She was called home to the Lord on March 5, 2022. to the late Clinton Eley and Maggie Bishop. Parker was born on Januin Murfreesboro, N.C. She was attentive to all these things until her health began to decline, however, she continued to be the loving, caring and strong wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, cousin, friend and mentor she is known and loved for. Alvertis loved to read, especially passages in the Bible, she enjoyed spending time with family, drawing and decorating. Alvertis always served the Lord with Joy and wanted others to have that same feeling of joy. Alvertis was on the Deaconess Board, she taught New Members Class, Vacation Bible School, and was one of our Sunday school Teacher’s of the year. She loved to sing praises to the Lord, she served in the Praise Dance Ministry and the Scholarship Ministry.
Through the years she was in the Second Senior Choir, Sanctuary Choir, and Mass Choir. She started out her religious journey with the Young Voices of God in the Youth Choir. She continued through the years to be a faithful and dedicated member. His hobbies included fishing, bowling, yard work and singing.Īlvertis joined Colossian Baptist Church at a very early age. Ron was also a dedicated and dependable sexton for the church for a number of years. He enhanced his spiritual and biblical growth by faithfully attending the weekly Pastor’s Hour Bible Study. He was active in the WIMPY Ministry as Co-Coordinator of Music, Co-Song Leader, Sound Technician and a guest speaker. One of his joys was helping to organize and participate in the annual church picnic, and said his favorite foods were “too many to record.” He performed as an actor and soloist in the WVC Players & Company Stage Productions, and later as a production assistant. He also served as chairman of the Men’s Seventy Ministry for many years and organized and led men’s fellowship meetings, outings, and outreach.
